One set a day
A scheduled job publishes a new puzzle for every mode at 00:00 UTC. The reset happens at the same instant everywhere rather than at your local midnight, and the countdown on each finished puzzle tracks it.
Nothing to sign up for
Your guesses, streaks, and statistics live in your own browser. There is no account, no email address, and no personal data in our database — only anonymous counts of how many people attempted and solved each puzzle.
Made to be shared
Finishing a puzzle produces an emoji grid that shows how you did without giving the answer away. Paste it wherever you argue about the books with your friends.
Frequently asked questions
When do the puzzles reset?
At 00:00 UTC every day. That is midnight in London through the winter, 1am in Warsaw, and early evening the day before on the US west coast. Every mode gets its new puzzle at the same moment.
Do I need an account?
No. Witchdle never asks for an email address or a password. Progress is stored in your browser's local storage, which means it stays on the device you played on and disappears if you clear your browsing data.
Can I play puzzles I missed?
For a few days, yes. Every game page has an archive control that steps back through the most recent puzzles. Older days roll out of the window as new ones arrive.
Where do the characters, monsters, and cards come from?
From hand-curated datasets covering ninety-two characters, seventy-nine bestiary entries, and ninety-two Gwent cards, compiled from the novels and the games. Where the books and the games contradict each other, the books take precedence.
I think one of the answers is wrong.
It happens — the source material disagrees with itself more often than you would expect. Send the puzzle mode, the date shown in the header, and what you believe the answer should be, either through the feedback button in the footer or by email, and it will be checked.
Is Witchdle free?
Entirely. Hosting is paid for by advertising and by the occasional tip through Ko-fi. Nothing on the site is paywalled and nothing is planned to be.
What languages is it available in?
English and Polish, the language of the novels the puzzles are built on. The switcher sits in the site header and your choice is remembered on your next visit.
Is this an official Witcher site?
No. Witchdle is an unofficial fan project with no connection to CD Projekt Red, Andrzej Sapkowski, or Netflix. All names, artwork, and lore belong to their respective owners.
